PowerUsenet Announces Increased Retention and Connections

PowerUsenet has announced today several service upgrades for its services.

Binary Retention has been increased to 300 days and will be spooling to an odd number of 401 (predictably to beat out the NewsHosting announcement of 400 days reported earlier). Increase in connections will be enacted as well, increasing customers who were at 12 connections up to 30 and customers at 6 connections are automatically upgraded to 15 connections instead.

AT&T To Discontinue Usenet Service

AT&T has officially discontinued binary newsgroup access to its customers. Although Usenet is available, all "alt.binaries" groups have been removed from their service.
