Usenetserver (UNS) is pretty decent when it comes to retention and speed. The pricing plans are about average for its class, with an added 3 day trial with SSL that makes it unique. UsenetServer will run you about $14.95 - $17.95, each includes SSL and a variable on how many simultaneous connections depending on the plan (10 - 20). Signup and setup is pretty basic. No thorough tutorials for the novice on how to set yourself up and go, but seasoned usenet users will not have a problem. Usenetserver appears only to cater to the US, and not EU. They have a pretty solid network, and appear to deliver the 105+ days of retention they advertise.
Features
Usenetserver runs 10-20 simultaneous connections depending on the plan that is chosen. Offering true 256 Bit SSL, they cater to user security. They offer credits for any referrals to the network and offer dynamic route selection. No caps on any of the plans, including the 3 day trial make it an attractive offering. 24/7 Support is advertised.
Support
As stated above, the website offers 24/7 Live Chat support on the site. On two out of four occassions, support was unavailable. However, sending an email to support was received back in 30 minutes with a response. General inquiries with a direct, original response was received. FAQ sections leaves a bit to be desired. It covers the very basics, but not as thorough or complete as many others.
Conclusion
UsenetServer blends in well with the higher tier providers. The service itself is pretty solid. Full bandwidth speeds were achieved. Retention is as advertised, ranging between 101-105 days. FAQ section needs to be worked on a bit more, but live or email support is available that proved to offer quick solutions to problems. The 3 day trial is a perfect solution to test the waters for someone new and see what the servers would go for. The difference of 10/20 connections is big. For $3.00 more a month, you get double the connections, which is recommended. Overall, there are bigger and better usenet providers, but this one does do a pretty good job competing.
